The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) offers Agrostudies in Israel.
Agrostudies is an international training center that provides an agricultural education program in Israel to interns from developing countries worldwide.
The program has operated since 2005, training interns from Southeast Asia and Africa on selected farms in Israel. It focuses on capacity building through practical and professional knowledge transfer in agriculture. It promotes food security by providing deserving students with a creative, practical, and dynamic educational framework.
Supported by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Agriculture, this initiative aligns with Israel's support for developing countries.
This program aims to provide an opportunity for experiential learning in advanced and modern agricultural methods. It is a combination of frontal instruction and theoretical studies with practical agricultural internships on farms within Israel.
How is it conducted?
The "Learning by Doing" method is used so the participants will gain first-hand experience in advanced agricultural technologies. The program's goal is to directly link the participants' theoretical knowledge to the implementation of modern agriculture. The graduates of the program become the leading agriculturist in countries where agriculture is mainly for sustenance.
Furthermore, the participants will gain experience through hands-on work with leading farms and take part in courses focusing on practical agricultural methods. It will be a unique and fulfilling experience because the participants will be exposed to the diverse cultures of their fellows and colleagues. They will also have the opportunity to travel and become familiar with Israel and Israeli culture whilst simultaneously learning the program.
At the end of the program, the participants are expected to have professional experience and knowledge, allowing them to develop and promote the agricultural sector in their home country.
