The Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) has recommended that the quarantine period for returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from countries in the green list, with negative test for Covid-19 upon arrival, shall be removed.
DoLE also suggested that the quarantine period be cut to five days for OFWs from the yellow list countries with negative test on Covid-19.
Labor Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III said in a news briefing on October 13, “I am very confident that the President will approve the recommendation."
On October 8, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases reduced the mandatory facility-based quarantine period for inbound travelers from countries with low to medium Covid-19 infections.
On the other hand, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced that fully-vaccinated inbound passengers are now only required to undergo a five-day facility-based quarantine and another five days in their respective homes. Unvaccinated individuals will still have to undergo a seven-day facility quarantine and another seven days at home.
All countries and territories are in the green and yellow lists, with an exception of British territory Bermuda, which falls under the red list.
